Canon Missioner The Reverend Canon John E. Padgett (361) 550-0013 CanonJohn@PIMeast.org John graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1965 with a B.S. in Naval Science. He served as a Naval Aviator for twenty years which included two combat tours in Vietnam. Then he graduated from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School with a M.S. in Operations Research in 1972. John also graduated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School in 1975 and was the Lead Test Pilot for the early developmental flying of the F/A-18 aircraft. He retired from the Navy in 1985 and entered the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin as a Postulant from the Diocese of West Texas. Graduated with a Master of Divinity in 1988 and was ordained to the Deaconate in May of 1988 and to the Priesthood in December 1988, He served at St. Thomas in San Antonio as an Assistant/Interim Rector from !988-1990. He also served as Vicar/Rector of St. Christopher’s by-the-Sea in Portland, Texas from 1990-1995 and helped them achieve parish status. John served as Rector of St. Andrew’s, San Antonio from 1995-2005 and was called as Canon Missioner of the Eastern Partnership in Ministy beginning October 1, 2005. |

Missioner The Reverend Gary D. Gooch (512) 396-1451 or (512) 557-2500 FrGary@PIMeast.org Gary graduated from Oklahoma State University 1957 and 1967 with BS and MS in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Company as a Process Development Engineer, then Senior Engineering Analyst in their computing department. Then he served in the US Air Force as a weather officer and forecaster, discharged with rank of Captain, USAFR. Graduated from Nashotah House 1974 Cum Laude. Gary was ordained Deacon 6/22/74 and Priest 12/21/74 by Bishop Chilton Powell of Oklahoma. He served as Curate at Grace Church, Muskogee, OK, as Vicar then Rector of St. Andrew's, Broken Arrow, and as Pastor of All Saint's Nova Cluster and vicar or rector of the four cluster churches in Pittsburg, KS, Ft. Scott, KS, St. Mary's, Galena, and St. Stephen's Columbus. Gary retired in 1996 (Diocese of Kansas) and moved to San Marcos, TX. Began working with Partners In Ministry in 1997, continuing to date. |

Missioner The Reverend Doctor Robert Johnston (361) 578-8271 DrBob@PIMeast.org "Doctor Father Bob" is a graduate of Wharton High School. He attended Schreiner Institute and then transferred to Baylor University. Following Graduation with BS in Biology, he attended Baylor college of medicine. Following Medical School Graduation, Bob was a resident in General Surgery which was finished in 1962, and a Fellowship in Cardio Thoracic Surgery was completed in 1965. He then was a member of the faculty in the department of Surgery, and eventually Professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. “I have always been an Episcopalian, with my home parish in St. Thomas church, Wharton. The Church has been big part of my life. I graduated from EFM and in 2006 Bishop Lillibridge asked me to go to Iona School of Ministry." Bob completed his Senior year at Iona School of Ministry in the spring and was ordained to the transitional deaconate by Bishop Lillibridge on June 6, 2009 and to the priesthood by Bishop Reed on December 9, 2009. ”My passion in the Church is Curisillo and outreach. I love working with the small Churches as I see this as the first century Christians did.” |

Seminarian (3rd Year) Mr. Richard McLeon (361) 485-6208 Richard@PIMeast.org Richard grew up in Grapevine, Texas and was confirmed into the Episcopal Church at St. Andrews, San Antonio, Texas. He holds a BS from Texas A&M University, an MBA from Sul Ross State University and completed a Management Internship at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Richard is a board certified Master Financial Manager and has published numerous articles nationally on a variety of business related topics. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves from 1983 to 1996 graduating from the US Army Chemical School and the Battle Staff Course of the US Army Sergeant Majors Academy. Richard served as a Senior Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Warfare Instructor and later as a combat Squad Leader and Chemical Reconnaissance NCOIC with the 24th Infantry (M), XVIII Airborne Corps during the Persian Gulf War. Richard's lay ministry has involved Lector, Chalice Bearer, Lay Eucharistic Minister, and Eucharistic Visitor. Richard and his family (Patty, JT and Quint) have been associated with PIM since 1999 and are former members of St. Matthews – Kenedy. Richard has spent most of his professional career in non-profit electric utility management and is employed by South Texas Electric Cooperative as federal and regional Compliance Coordinator. He has held the positions of Assistant General Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and senior staff member at various electric cooperatives. |
